Dr. Jürgen Reinhard is the Leader of WP6.
Passionate about advanced environmental data management, Jürgen Reinhard is a Senior Sustainability Consultant at Quantis aiming at providing a more robust and extensive data foundation for strategic environmental decision-making. With more than 12 years of scientific experience in sustainability and informatics at Empa and the University of Zurich, Jürgen has insight in both the scientific foundation of assessing environmental impacts and its operationalization in industry-oriented software tools.
In the past, Jürgen served as a policy consultant for the Swiss government, as a scientific expert at the ISO/Project Committee 248 ‘Sustainability criteria for bioenergy’ and as a long-term member (2011-2016) in the Group of LCI Experts of the Swiss Centre for Life Cycle Inventories (ecoinvent). He has authored various papers on the environmental performance of biofuels, direct and indirect land use change, the operationalization of LCA in software tools, regionalization in LCI modeling and systematic LCI database improvement.
Jürgen works as a Senior Sustainability Consultant of Quantis, where he is responsible for the development of advanced data management concepts and innovative LCA frameworks. Jürgen holds a Master in Industrial Environmental Informatics from the University of Applied Sciences (HTW) in Berlin and a Master & Ph.D. in Information Systems from the University of Zurich.
